Perfect for holidays, parties, gift boxes, or late-night chocolate cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (85 g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup (170 g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (130 g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup (56 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • Sprinkles or powdered sugar, for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cereal:
Place the Rice Krispies cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate mixture:
In a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan, melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter until smooth. Stir until creamy and fully combined.
  3. Add flavorings:
Stir in the vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt if using.
  4. Combine:
Pour the warm chocolate mixture over the cereal and fold gently until all the Krispies are coated.
  5. Shape:
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then roll into bite-size balls. Place onto a lined baking sheet.
  6. Add coatings (optional):
Roll each ball in sprinkles or powdered sugar for a festive finish.
  7. Chill:
Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.
  8. Store:
Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • If the mixture feels too soft to roll, chill for 5–10 minutes to firm it up.
  • For clean round shapes, lightly grease your hands or use a small cookie scoop.
  • Powdered sugar melts over time, so add a second coat just before serving if you want a snowy finish.
  • Keep them cold they hold their shape best when chilled.
